Information Technology Project Manager/Software Developer

Responsible for managing the IT staff, end user support and identified department-supported IT hardware/software and other related peripherals and infrastructure for the Department of Mental Health and Developmental Services in collaboration with the centralized IT department; coordinates the department-level technology support and management with the appropriate staff and resources in the County’s centralized IT Department; does related work as required. Coordinates and supervises MH/DS technology and data related duties. Responsibilities include wide area network servers and connectivity, staff computer setup and maintenance, electronic health records, consumer services and billing systems, reporting functions, Intranet web site and local applications. The IS Manager manages two different areas of IS: the Evaluation & Reporting Group and System Management & Operations. The Manager has 4 people on the Reporting Team who all report to this position. The Supervisor of the System Operations Group also reports to the Manager and has 2 more people in that section. System Operations is responsible for maintaining, upgrading and safeguarding the technical infrastructure for the agency. This includes 460 workstations and laptops in 18 locations and the associated 23 servers. The agency works closely with County IT department and the IT Manager is a key liaison. The position oversees and maintains a viable disaster recovery plan. Two of the members of the Reporting Group maintain, upgrade and train staff on all aspects of the agency Client Billing and Services software system, Anasazi. This is a complex system that must meet State, Federal and other regulations. It houses all client data that doctors and clinicians need to serve nearly 10,000 consumers per year. It also bills Medicaid/Medicare and other insurance companies for about $7.3 million per year. Between these 2 groups, the department handles about 2,000 Help Desk Work orders per year.
