RESPONSIBILITIES The Accountant is responsible for the data collection, processing and maintenance of accounting data related to regional funding thru the Southside Behavioral Health Consortium with Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services as fiscal agent and responsible for the maintenance of procurement and contract information and other accounting related information for Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services. The Accountant is responsible for the accounting transactions for Piney Ridge Apartments Corporation, Piney Ridge Apartments Corporation II and Ashlawn View, Inc. in our automated accounting system (MIP Fund Accounting) to include but not limited to electronic checks, quarterly/annual financial reports, HUD and tenant rent revenue ledgers, monthly rent revenue reports, HUD reporting and financial statements, preparing IRS Form 990s, processing 1099 forms, etc. In addition the Accountant is responsible for weekly electronic vendor payment preparation, processing, tracking and entry into the accounting records. Furthermore, the Accountant is responsible for the processing of Agency credit card transactions from the online banking system to the accounting records. REQUIREMENTS Minimum Requirements M1: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting M2: Work experience in accounting functions in an automated environment M3: Work experience in governmental/fund accounting or non-profit accounting or cost accounting in an automated accounting software system M4: Work experience in Microsoft Excel with intermediate to advanced level skills M5: Work experience in Microsoft Word with intermediate to advanced level skills M6: Work experience in Microsoft Outlook with intermediate to advanced level skills Preferred Requirements P1: Work experience in providing assistance and training in software use to others P2: Work experience in behavioral health, developmental disability and substance abuse (CSB) Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry (CANIS) report will be required upon request.
