Co-Response Specialist/Clinician This position offers an opportunity to be part of a ground-breaking program that is one of the first five pilot programs across Virginia. With the primary goal of creating a system that offers a community behavioral health response to behavioral health emergencies seeks to move away from a default law enforcement response, the program also seeks to address racial and cultural disparities in behavioral health care access. Work directly alongside law enforcement and peer staff in community settings to provide in-the-moment de-escalation and crisis intervention as well as facilitating timely access to care for individuals experiencing a crisis while improving outcomes of decreasing arrests and use of force, reducing avoidable trauma, and reducing unnecessary incarceration and hospitalization rates. This cutting-edge position will be part of a community-wide collaboration to create a quality clinical response to crisis needs. Position Specifics: Location: Abingdon, VA Status: Full-time, Exempt, 8:30am – 8:30pm to include weekends and holidays. Shift differential rates for holidays. Compensation: $60,000 – Commensurate with education/experience. $5,000 Sign-On Bonus!! Education: Master’s degree eligible to seek Licensure for Supervision in Virginia or LPC, LCSW, LMFT Experience: Previous or current certification as Virginia Certified Pre-screener preferred.
