Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in a Human Services field; minimum of two years of relevant emergency services experience in a community mental health setting; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. This position requires the candidate to hold a valid clinical license (Virginia) or be license eligible. Applicants must be certified preadmission screeners or eligible for certification in Virginia. A strong background in working with individuals with mental health, substance use, and intellectual/developmental disability is required. Must demonstrate clinical skills in risk assessment, safety planning and crisis intervention, as well as knowledge of civil commitment process. Ability to work well in a dynamic team environment as well as the ability to work independently, at times, is required. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required. Duties Join our Chesterfield Crisis team! Chesterfield Community Services Board is seeking permanent, part-time Crisis Clinicians to work various shifts based on candidate availability. Shifts include weekend daytime and weekend overnight. We are seeking licensed or license-eligible clinicians to respond to individuals and families experiencing a behavioral health or psychiatric emergency. Responsibilities include crisis intervention services, emergency evaluations, pre-admission screenings for hospitals, crisis counseling, safety planning, and providing information and referrals. Candidates must quickly switch between tasks, manage stressful work environments, interface with multiple behavioral health partners (including first responders and mobile crisis providers), and work independently as well as fit into a team office setting. The work is dynamic and rewarding.
