Master’s degree in a human services field; minimum of two years of relevant emergency services experience in a community mental health setting; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must hold a valid clinical license (Virginia LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) or be license-eligible. Applicants must be current Certified Pre-admission Screening Clinicians or be eligible for certification in Virginia. Strong background in working with individuals with mental health, substance use, and intellectual/developmental disabilities is required. Must demonstrate clinical skills in risk assessment, safety planning and crisis intervention, as well as knowledge of civil commitment process. Ability to work well in a dynamic team environment as well as the ability to work independently, at times, is required. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and educational/degree verification required.
Join our Crisis team! Chesterfield Community Services Board is recruiting for a full-time Crisis Clinician for our Emergency Services (ES) Team. We are seeking a Certified Pre-admission Screening Clinician to respond to individuals and families experiencing an acute behavioral health crisis. This position is responsible for day, evening, weekend, and overnight crisis shifts on a rotating/shared basis. Responsibilities include crisis intervention services, safety planning, emergency evaluations, pre-admission screenings for hospitals, crisis counseling, and providing information and referrals. This candidate must manage multiple tasks, make quick and effective decisions about clinical care, interface with multiple behavioral health partners including first responders, and work independently as well as fit into a team office setting. This crisis work is dynamic and rewarding!
