District 19 Community Services Board in Petersburg, Virginia, is seeking a behavioral health Director in our Adult Services division.  This position requires a highly motivated and energetic individual to oversee all adult Mental Health and Substance Use services within our agency. Director of Adult Services is responsible for adult MH services. Services include MH case management, Permanent Supportive Housing, Assertive Community Treatment Team, Ellis Square Transitional housing, I-Works, and related programing.   Assures the effective delivery of Behavioral Health Adult services to citizens residing in the nine localities served by District 19 CSB. Assures provision of effective person-centered services, maximizes revenue capacity of programs, and promotes on-going consumer satisfaction.  Exercises sound judgment, demonstrates initiative, and maintains a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.  Sustains a cooperative working relationship with District 19 personnel, Leadership Team, state and local hospitals, managed care companies and Regional 4 Clinical Directors. Works closely with Executive Director to improve and develop programs and services.  Provide supervision and oversight of all clinic and program managers in the Adult Services Department.
Licensed Mental Health Provider (LMHP, LCSW, LPC) in the state of Virginia required. Master’sdegree in a human services field. Five (5) years supervision and program management experience.  Incumbent will have experience in clinical, supervisory, and administrative behavioral healthcare field with knowledge of adult behavioral health services including case management, mental health support, peer services, intensive community treatment, BH therapies and EBPs, and support services.  Preferred candidate will have considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of human services administration, business administration, strategic planning and quality improvement methodologies. Prefer knowledge regarding eligibility and reimbursement for adult behavioral health services. Other
Knowledge of DBHDS adult service delivery programming to include Assessment and evaluation services, Case Management Services, Outpatient Services, Mental Health Support Services, Intensive Community Treatment Services, and Peer Services.   Knowledge of eligibility criteria associated with reimbursement for adult services; Knowledge of support services available within community to support consumer and family members; knowledge of staff credentialing and training requirements; knowledge of state regulations and compliance standards. Skills in the management/administration of DBHDS service delivery programming; Skills in developing mental health and substance use disorder service delivery programs; skills in monitoring and evaluating mental health and substance use disorder service delivery programs for compliance with established mandates; Skills in effective utilization of community resources in the provision of mental health and substance use disorder services; skills in diversion strategies to prevent hospitalization when appropriate;   skills in coordinating the efficient utilization of staff resources; skills in communicating effectively in writing and verbally to varied audiences; skills in strategic planning including establishing goals and objectives; and skills in supervision of mid and upper level managers.  Demonstrate excellent communication skills.  Experience in TEAMS. Ability to exercise sound judgment; work with limited supervision; and sustain cooperative/effective working relationships with District 19 Leadership Team members, personnel of related agencies, consumers, and family members; Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality; Ability to work effectively with all types/levels of persons; ability to develop program goals and objectives and motivate staff to achieve them. Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and demonstrate positive leadership. Ability to closely monitor program expenditures, review and follow up on financial and service data reports, oversees division budget and ensures appropriate revenue and expense allocations. Salary: Position is a Grade C14, starting salary at $102,466. Salary is negotiable.
