Encompass Community Supports, formerly known as Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services (RRCS) is hiring a Director of Community Connections for Older Adults to work in our Culpeper office.

Our Director of Community Connections for Older Adults plans, oversees, and manages Aging and Transportation services including food services, and volunteer services activities; work is performed under the general supervision of the Associate Executive Director.  Supervision is exercised over all division personnel.  Incumbent provides oversight and leadership to all program aspects of aging and transportation services.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                

SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership to staff to ensure development and reinforcement of common goals, teamwork, and effective management.
  • Analyzes services and makes recommendations according to community needs and professional guidelines consistent with Area Agency on Aging requirements and local needs.
  • Oversees and supports division managers for recruitment, disciplinary action, training, support, and evaluation of staff.
  • Oversees policy and procedure development and implementation to reflect compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Implements No Wrong Door approach for provision of aging services to include appropriate technology applications.
  • Advises Executive Director and Leadership on all matters related to aging and transportation services.
  • Serves as agency liaison with appropriate internal and external groups/associations, ensuring positive rapport and effective coordination.
  • Develops budget input for division; uses appropriate data to monitor and report on revenue, expenditures, and utilization.
  • Facilitates monitoring/reviews by external regulators; follows up on all recommendations and corrective actions.
  • Develops resources for new and existing programs, including grant writing and fund-raising strategies, and contractual agreements.
  • Assures compliance with Finance, Administration, and Human Resources procedures.
  • Presents reports to the Board of Directors related to division programs and services.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current and emerging service delivery systems, program planning and evaluation for areas of assignment.
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory agency requirements and laws governing assigned programs.
  • General knowledge of budgeting practices and fiscal management.
  • General knowledge of Health Department regulations related to food service and sanitation.
  • Proficient in technology use and communications for sharing data and information.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Board members, associates, clients, vendors and the general public.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master’s degree in human services or related field
  • A minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in the oversight, funding and development of aging and long-term care services for seniors including considerable supervisory and leadership experience.
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license
  • Employment with Encompass Community Supports is contingent upon the successful completion of our background check process (criminal, DMV, education, drug screening, reference check, DSS, OIG and SAM).
