This is the perfect time to work for the City of Chesapeake. CIBH is looking for dependable applicants that love helping others, especially those with physical and intellectual disabilities. Driver provides daily transportation services to individuals living with Intellectual
and Developmental Disabilities who participate attend the Community Options Group day service. Typical tasks include of Driver I
  • To provide transportation safely for individuals of the Community Options Program to and from the Day Support program.
  • Maintain and record travel logs indicating the amount of mileage used daily and record the number of passengers transported daily.
  • Refueling the Vehicles.
  • Ensure that the Program Vehicles receive the required Preventive Maintenance (PM)
  • Driver I position requires Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires a high school diploma or GED and any combination of education and experience equivalent to the satisfactory completion of one year of a college education. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: In addition to satisfying the vocational/educational standard, this class requires a minimum of three months of related, full-time equivalent experience. SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: Requires a valid driver’s license. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with the City’s Driving Standards. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
