Licensed Practical Nurse – Crisis Stabilization Services – Highlands Harbor & The Anchor
Highlands Harbor is an upcoming, brand-new, crisis stabilization program that provides an alternative to hospitalization. Highlands Harbor offers an overnight, non-hospital setting that focuses on individualized care for those experiencing psychiatric/substance use crisis including detox. This brand-new program has the capacity of a 12-bed unit in a newly renovated building.
The Anchor is a new program that provides a 24/7 facility-based crisis center for those experiencing a psychiatric/substance related mental health crisis. The center serves as an alternative to hospitalization and provides a safe space with open recliners or individual calm rooms for undergoing a severe impairment of functioning because of a precipitating situation or personal distress- in which the crisis is expected to be resolved within 23 hours.
This vital position administers medications, aids with other medical procedures (blood pressure, urine screens, etc.), obtains prior authorizations, completes refill requests, facilitates contact with psychiatrist, and completes accurate medical records. Also, you’ll assist in brief medical assessment of enrolled consumers and monitor consumers receiving detoxification as well as assist with group activities including but not limited to AcuDetox (training will be provided) and nutrition/wellness.
Location: Abingdon, VA
Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt, Nights Wednesday – Saturday 9:00pm – 7:00am.
Compensation: $22.00 – Commensurate with education/experience. $2,000 Sign-On Bonus!!!
Education: Current/Active License as an LPN with the privilege to practice in the State of Virginia (i.e., Virginia License or Multi-State Privilege license if residence is outside of Virginia)
Experience: One-year psychiatric experience preferred
