District 19 Community Services Board is offering a great opportunity for a full time MH/SA Therapist to work in the Hopewell/Prince George/Surry Clinic. Travel is required.

Essential job duties of this position include: Providing individual and group therapy services to consumers in community and criminal justice settings who suffers from substance use and co-occurring disorders. To provide the mental status exams, clinical assessments, SUD SBI screenings, person centered treatment plans based on the evaluation and other psychological screenings and testing.

Requirements: (Experience, Essential Education, and Skills Needed):
Successful applicant must be Licensed or License Eligible (Registered with Board of Counseling). Knowledge of CSB system; clinical motivation of clients; case management; etiology of substance abuse; related mental disorders; self -help groups; bio, psycho, and social aspects of substance abuse. Skills in group, oral and written communication; multi-cultural sensitivities; sound judgment.

Experience working with adults with SUD as primary disorder, experience with consumers in the criminal justice system, and experience with crisis intervention.

Preferred Qualifications / Other Relevant Job Information:
Work experience in group/individual SA work in public agency preferred.

Bilingual (Spanish) candidate preferred.

Position is a grade 210 or 211 depending on licensure status.

Position requires pre-employment extensive background check and drug screening, to include a driver’s license report if applicable.

Starting salary for new employees will be based on the prospective employee’s knowledge, skills and abilities directly relating to the position’s duties. Current or most recent verified salary will also be taken into consideration prior to making an offer of employment. Starting salaries for new employees will not exceed the advertised maximum and will be based on the availability of funding within the current budget.
