Principal Account Clerk
High school diploma or GED; college courses in accounting or business preferred; two years of experience in clerical accounting or financial record keeping; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. At least one year of experience in using an automated accounting system and general cashiering skills preferred. Good oral/written communication skills and typing skills with speed and accuracy a must. PC experience in Word, Excel, and Outlook required. Experience working with the general public; excellent customer service skills, data entry skills, and calculator skills; strong attention to detail required. The ability to work in a team-oriented environment with a focus on communication is required. Familiarity with medical billing would be a helpful plus. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
Daily functions include, but are not limited to, receiving and recording proof of income for consumers; processing payments received from consumers and various insurance companies, using an EHR (Profiler software); answering consumer account inquires face to face and via phone calls; sending out financial update reminder letters; processing refunds as needed and preparing daily deposit. This position serves as the primary customer service representative for Accounts Receivable department and is expected to work collaboratively with other AR staff, healthcare providers, insurance representatives and consumers as needed. Must be willing to meet productivity goals/benchmarks as set and communicated by Accounts Receivable leadership and other assignments as required. Perform other work as required.
