DUTIES: The incumbent in this position is responsible for carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the daily operations and management of a group home. The Residential Manager will be assigned one primary location and will assist with all DS Residential homes on an on-call basis. The Residential Manager will provide staff supervision and leadership in Quality Improvement efforts and is directly supervised by the Developmental Services Director. The Residential Manager will ensure compliance with all standards and regulations of Licensure, Medicaid, HIPAA, HUD, RACS Policies and Procedures, Residential Support Services policies and procedures; and will create, oversee and monitor the treatment plans, and programs and activities of the group homes. The incumbent is responsible for the overall medical and financial care of the residents within the group homes.
QUALIFICATIONS: An associate degree or bachelor’s degree in the human services field is preferred along with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in human services; however, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities may be substituted for the educational requirement meeting QIDP qualifications under the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services; extensive supervisory experience is preferred. The position requires the incumbent to be able to function independently with normal supervision; exercise sound judgment; possess excellent skills in conflict resolution, problem solving and motivational techniques. The incumbent must observe professional standards of confidentiality. The incumbent must hold a current valid Virginia Driver’s License and maintain a safe driving record. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays to meet program needs and must be able to lift 50 pounds repetitively.
