Residential Supervisor (re-ad 22-00242; 22-00093)
Bachelor’s degree in a human services field such as psychology, sociology, rehabilitation counseling, or a related field; three years of experience in implementing residential program services for individuals with intellectual disabilities including one year of experience in a supervisory or lead capacity; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Eligible for QIDP (Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professionals) designation. Excellent oral and written communication skills to include the ability to interact with a diverse population. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Assertive and confident – especially when being challenged. Independent thinker and decision maker. Strong computer skills. Ability to effectively deal with conflict. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
You will provide leadership and support to two ID Waiver Group Homes. You will be responsible for the 24/7 operations of two 4 to 5 bed facilities including participating in an on-call rotation. You will monitor consumer support service delivery; provide supervision, training, and guidance to residential counselors, residential aides, and relief staff. You will become an important part of the resident’s everyday life as you exemplify the characteristics of a positive role model. You will also be responsible for writing, developing, and reviewing person-centered plans for all residents. Other duties include maintaining inventory; monitoring the budget; managing petty cash; and ensuring compliance of residents’ funds. Perform other work as required.
