Same Day Access Clinical Assessor Coordinator

District 19 Community Services Board is seeking a qualified professional to assume the responsibilities of full-time Same Day Access (SDA) Coordinator. The Same Day Access program is the initial point of contact for assessment and evaluation to access services for mental health, substance use, and developmental disability programs. The responsibilities of this position includes supervision and oversight of the SDA program and staff, completing screenings and diagnostic evaluations, assisting individuals with scheduling appointments, following up on appointment status and linking individuals to needed resources in the community. Providing referrals to crisis intervention, crisis stabilization, community resources, or other appropriate levels of services are completed as necessary. This position’s incumbent is responsible for communicating with other clinics and managers regarding referrals made. This position incumbent is responsible for coordination and outreach of community stakeholders, promoting the program to the community, working closely with Managed Care Organizations, Department of Social Services, DBHDS, and other entities to improve access and resources for individuals.

Services will primarily take place on-site at 20 West Bank Street, Petersburg VA, however periodic support may be needed throughout District 19 localities.

In carrying out the position requirements, the incumbent exercises sound judgment, demonstrates initiative, exhibits flexibility, maintains a high degree of confidentiality and sustains a cooperative working relationship with District 19 Mental Health, Intellectual Disabilities and Substance Abuse services personnel, clinical Case Management staff, D19 CSB Emergency Services and hospital liaisons, local police, local hospitals and other referral sources.

Requirements: (Experience, Essential Education, and Skills Needed):
Master’s degree with a major course of study in Human Services (e.g., Counseling, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, Nursing) or Master’s Degree or Equivalent course credits in Psychology. Successful applicant must be Licensed (LMHP, LPC, LSCW or LMFT).

Knowledge of human personality, growth and development; mental health disabilities; evaluation of mental health disabilities; intellectual and developmental disabilities case management services; written, oral and interpersonal communications, interagency services coordination. At least 2 years’ experience with completing psycho-social evaluations; maintaining casework documentation; coordinating services for the mentally ill; providing mental health and substance use consultations and education services. Ability to work effectively with all types/levels of persons; exercise sound judgment; demonstrate initiative; maintain confidentiality; effectively implement interagency coordination of services. Insight of program development and operation. Ability to work well with others.

Potential to be expected to provide supervisory back up in different programs (Crisis Assessment Center and Emergency Service).

Preferred Qualifications / Other Relevant Job Information:
Position is a grade 213. The minimum salary for this position is $50,305.00 /annual.

Starting salary for new employees will be based on the prospective employee’s knowledge, skills and abilities directly relating to the position’s duties. Current or most recent verified salary will also be taken into consideration prior to making an offer of employment. Starting salaries for new employees will not exceed the advertised maximum and will be based on the availability of funding within the current budget.
