Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in a human services field (i.e. psychology, social work, counseling) and three years of professional experience within the human services field is required; or an equivalent of training and experience. Must be licensed to practice psychotherapy in Virginia (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc) or will become licensed within six months of hire. Experience reflecting provision of individual and group services is required. Experience with trauma informed care is preferred. Knowledge of ASAM Criteria, Medically Assisted Treatment and Evidence Based Practices for substance use treatment preferred. The qualified Senior Clinician candidate will be flexible, adaptable, and well-organized while displaying a passion for working with adults ages 18+ with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Experience with electronic medical record keeping and case management is preferred. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.

Duties

Chesterfield County’s Department of Mental Health Support Services, Substance Use division is seeking a full-time Senior Clinician to provide group and individual therapy services to individuals and their families within an outpatient mental health setting. Weekly supervision will be provided. Seeking a candidate who has a working knowledge of evidence-based therapy techniques specific to substance use, medically assisted treatments, and trauma informed treatment and who is able to independently lead group and individual therapy sessions. Candidate will be working with a large, multi-disciplinary team while functioning independently in the daily provision of a variety of substance use and mental health services in a public health environment. Shift

40 hours/week; Monday through Friday with two required evening shifts until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Option for either a five day work week or a four day work week.
