Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in a Human Services field such as psychology, counseling, or social work, and at least three years of relevant professional therapy experience in a mental health treatment setting with youth and families; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Professional licensure in Virginia (such as Licensed Clinical Social Worker/LCSW, Licensed Professional Counselor/LPC, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist/LMFT, etc.) is required. Verbal and written fluency in both Spanish and English is highly preferred. Applicants with specialized training or experience with specific populations such as youth with problematic sexualized behaviors or youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders, or with training in evidence based treatment models such as EMDR or Trauma-Focused CBT, are strongly encouraged to apply. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required. Duties Join us! The Child & Adolescent Services Team (CAST) is seeking a full-time, licensed, child and family therapist to join our specialized outpatient mental health team. The position is office-based, 40 hours per week, and requires some evening work (six hours after 5:00 each week) to meet the needs of the families we serve. Functions include: assessment and diagnosis, individualized service planning, both individual and family therapy services, case management, electronic medical record documentation, and other tasks as required. Successful applicants will be well-versed in the systems of care approach for youth, cognitive-behavioral treatment interventions, substance use treatment strategies, and trauma-informed care. Applicants with specialized training or experience with specific populations or treatment interventions such as art therapy, play therapy, trauma-informed care, etc. are particularly encouraged to apply.
