Clinician – Inpatient Substance Use Disorders FLSA Status: Exempt Encompass Community Supports, formerly known as Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services (RRCS) is hiring a Clinician – Inpatient Substance Use Disorders. Encompass Community Supports is a Virginia State community services organization that improves the quality of life in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock Counties by providing comprehensive mental health, substance use, developmental disability, housing, children’s, and aging services. At Encompass Community Supports, our full-time employees work 37.5 hours weekly. Our Clinician – Inpatient Substance Use Disorders, provides direct clinical service to clients involving intake, treatment planning, case management and psychotherapy; Work is performed under regular supervision. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Performs intakes, clinical assessments.
  • Develops measurable treatment plans.
  • Provides individual and group counseling.
  • Provides case management.
  • Assists clients with aftercare planning.
  • Provides substance abuse educational lectures.
  • Documents all services provided in a timely manner.
  • Provides crisis intervention.
  • Participates in team meetings, clinical supervision and staffing.
  • Serves on call outside normal business hours.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
  • Transports clients as needed.
  • Conducts searches, room inspections and client monitoring.
  • May substitute for other staff when needed.
  • Assists with training new staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Thorough knowledge of the disease of chemical dependency, principles of recovery, twelve step and self-help programs, relapse prevention and cross-cultural perspectives on drug use and recovery issues.
  • Thorough knowledge of basic physiology of drug addiction and withdrawal symptoms, mental health diagnoses and treatment planning.
  • Thorough knowledge of the theories and evidenced based techniques of counseling and crisis intervention.
  • Thorough knowledge of intake techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to evaluate and screen clients.
  • Ability to prepare adequate records and to report findings and data effectively.
  • Ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, associates and the general public.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, to include Word and Excel.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Master’s degree in human services or related field.
  • LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or LSATP license eligible.
  • Or Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC);
  • At least one year experience in substance abuse and mental health is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • This work requires little or no physical effort or exertion.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license.
  • Attends training and maintains certifications as required by the Agency and regulatory guidelines.
  • Employment with Encompass Community Supports is contingent upon the successful completion of our background check process (criminal, DMV, education, drug screening, reference check, DSS, OIG and SAM).
