Direct Support Technician / Highlands Place
CIBH is looking for dependable Direct Support Professionals to provide person-centered services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, within our licensed 24 hour residential setting. Staff ensure continuous coverage, maintain a therapeutic milieu, and implement individualized service plans in accordance with agency policy and state regulatory standards.

Direct Support Professionals (Technicians) are responsible for the following:

- Provide active supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times
- Implement Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) and behavioral support strategies
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, meals, mobility, and medication support (as trained) This involves the ability to use a Hoyer Lift.
- Support residents in developing independent living and community integration skills
- Maintain a structured and supportive home-like environment
- Complete accurate, timely documentation in compliance with Medicaid and licensing requirements
- Communicate effectively during shift transitions to ensure continuity of care
- Respond appropriately to behavioral or medical emergencies following established protocols
- Connecting and integrating clients within the community by accessing a variety of community resources and opportunities for socialization and recreation.
- Perform a variety of tasks involving cleanliness and maintenance of a safe and healthy living environment. Performs other related tasks as required.

VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Requires high school diploma or GED and any combination of education and experience equivalent to the satisfactory completion of one year of college education in client health/mental health care, developmental psychology, or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Requires a minimum of six months of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:

- Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with City Driving Standards.
- Must obtain CPR and First Aid certifications within 90 days.
- Employees serving the Intellectual Disabilities (ID) population must pass ID Orientation Workbook training within thirty days of hire.
- Requires to pass Medication Management Administration training within ninety days of hire.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
