Food Services Technician – Crisis Stabilization
Highlands Harbor and The Anchor are crisis stabilization programs that provide an alternative to hospitalization. Highlands Harbor offers an overnight, non-hospital setting that focuses on individualized care for those experiencing psychiatric/substance use crisis including detox. The Anchor is a 23-hour crisis stabilization unit that offers intensive services for up to 23 hours as a non-hospital alternative to treatment.
Primary responsibilities include preparation of healthy meals and snacks based on consumers’ dietary needs. This will include creating menus, analyzing budget needs as it relates to meals and snacks, maintaining overall operations of the kitchen, and ensuring compliance with the Virginia Health Department and OSHA regulations. This position will also assist with general supervision of consumers and monitor safety to include making periodic rounds, assisting with daily needs and personal hygiene tasks, laundry, light cleaning, searching belongings, and assisting with enrollment and discharge.
Position Specifics:
Location: Abingdon, VA
Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt, Monday – Friday 10:00am-6:00pm
Compensation: $15.00 – Commensurate with education/experience
Education: High School Diploma/GED
Experience: Current/valid driver’s license required. One-year related experience preferred.
