District 19 Community Services Board is offering a great opportunity for a full time Recovery Court Clinician. This position will provide individual and group therapy to substance use, mental health and/or dually diagnosed adults. Position is located in the Bank St. office in Petersburg, VA. In addition, this position will work primarily with the Drug Court program. Essential job duties of this position include: Assessing appropriateness and eligibility of referrals for drug court treatment. Assess SUD service needs; developing plans for access to services; liaison with client, families, programs, and service providers; ongoing monitoring or client service needs; advocacy; and consultation and education to clients, families and community. Provides clinical services to court-mandated participants enrolled in the Hopewell/ Prince-George Drug Court Program Facilitates group counseling sessions (focused on addressing addiction and criminogenic needs), individual counseling sessions, and/or family therapy as outlined in the participants’ treatment plans. Participates in weekly staff meetings with the Clinical Supervisor to provide an update on participant’s progress towards their treatment goals Attend weekly Drug Court Status Hearings and provides clinical recommendations to the Court. Maintains clinical case files for each participant, including case notes and attendance notes. Maintains an awareness of drug court best practices. Intervene during crisis or emergency situations to ensure the consumer remains safe at all times; collaborate with other health care professionals including psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, social workers, case manager and criminal justice personnel. Successful incumbent must have the ability to work effectively with a diverse consumer base while applying evidenced based clinical practices; ethically based decision making and judgement; demonstrate initiative; fluent with time management and teamwork; working knowledge of HIPPA and 42 CFR –Part 2 confidentiality. Successful applicant must be Licensed (LPC, LLCSW) or License Eligible (Registered with Board of Counseling) Knowledge of CSB system; knowledgeable of Motivational Interviewing techniques; familiar with case management principles; etiology of substance abuse; related mental disorders; community-based self-help groups; bio, psycho, and socio aspects of substance abuse. Group facilitation skills; oral and written communication; multi-cultural competencies. Experience working with adults with SUD as primary disorder, experience with consumers in the criminal justice system, and experience with crisis intervention. Work experience in group/individual SA work in public agency preferred. Travel is required within the District 19 catchment area. Bilingual (Spanish) candidate is preferred. This position is a grade S-C9 for Licensed Eligible, starting annual salary is $57,967.00.  Grade S-C10 is for Licensed, and the starting salary is $62,899.00.  *Salary is negotiable* Offers will be commensurate with knowledge, skills, and abilities subject to budgetary constraints. District 19 Community Service Board is a qualifying employer for public service loan forgiveness (PSLF).
