Family Resource/Family Support Specialist (2102)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the Healthy Families Program Coordinator, the Family Resource
/Family Support Specialist completes the screening and initial assessment interview and enters
initial data into the Program Management System on families referred to the program; enters
assessments into the Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services and Healthy Families
America/Virginia approved Medical Health Record database; assist with and provides presentations
to referring agencies within the community. Maintains and completes all required documentation
as prescribed by Healthy Families America standards, licensure, and Medicaid with regard to
clinical services and medical records keeping. Comply with all regulations applicable to
program services. Provides intensive home-based case management services to children at risk
of serious emotional disturbance and their families to promote positive mental health
development, family functioning, parent-child interaction, ensure receipt of appropriate
medical care, and prevent child abuse. Develop and implement individual service plans.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements
M1: Bachelor’s Degree with at least 15 hours of coursework in Human Services, with
at least two years of experience working with children five and under
OR
Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Vocational Rehabilitation, Counseling,
Sociology, Criminal Justice, other approved Human Services degree, or certified psychiatric
rehabilitation practitioner in Virginia
M2: Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry (CANIS) report will be required upon request. Our Agency maintains a drug-free workplace.
ANNUAL SALARY RANGE
$44,825 – $77,617
