At Chesapeake Integrated Behavioral Healthcare (CIBH), we are committed to providing individuals with quality mental health care. This Intensive Outpatient position provides individual and group counseling, psychotherapy, and/or crisis intervention to a caseload of individuals diagnosed with primary substance use, co-occurring mental health disorders, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities/disorders.
What You’ll Do
The position requires facilitating Substance Use Disorder IOP Groups for adults, and involves collaborative consultation with colleagues, as well as other agencies and service providers such as social services, schools, physicians, or probation officers, in accordance with confidentiality guidelines.
Additional duties of this position include completing the required annual compliance training and maintaining current standards relative to Corporate Compliance and HIPAA policies and procedures. Reporting any violations, inconsistencies, or discrepancies concerning the Corporate Compliance policies and procedures or the HIPAA policies and procedures to the supervisor or appropriate authority.

- Provides individual, group, and family counseling, psychotherapy, and/or crisis intervention to individuals who have been diagnosed with MH, SA, ID, and/or DD diagnoses.
- Completes, and/or reviews master assessments at the point of entry, diagnoses individuals based on presenting symptoms and related behaviors, and triages individuals to the appropriate departments within the agency for ongoing services and treatment.
- Provides appropriate clinical documentation and assures that assessments and correspondence to outside contacts are clinically appropriate and completed thoroughly and on time.
- Develops and implements person-centered, individualized treatment plans; makes referrals for other care providers as needed; documents accordingly.
- Maintains records for area of responsibility following departmental, state, and federal regulations, laws, policies, and procedures; processes daily paperwork including but not limited to client progress notes, authorization forms, and daily time sheets.
- Monitors Business Intelligence reports daily.
- Completes required annual compliance training, continuing education, and participates actively and constructively in program and professional development.

VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Requires a master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a closely related field, or another degree as approved by the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of two years of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:

- Requires State of Virginia licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Professional Counselor (LPC), Clinical Psychologist (LCP).
- A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist MD/DO, or a Bachelor’s Prepared Registered Nurse (RN) with five years of experience may be considered in the Emergency Services Program.
- May consider as a marginal (under-grade) applicant a Resident in Counseling or Supervisee in Social Work applicant who is currently registered with the Board of Health Professions with the ability to obtain licensure within the probationary period.
- May require Pre-Screening Certification within 6 weeks of employment (12 weeks for part-time staff) for those in the Emergency Services Program.
- Depending on the position, it may require a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with the City Driving Standards.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
