Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – Crisis Services – PRN
HCS is preparing to launch an overnight crisis stabilization program as an alternative to hospitalization for individuals experiencing psychiatric or substance use crisis. This position will assist with psychiatric and basic physical examinations within 23 hours of admission for consumers enrolling in this 12-bed program. Follow-up medication management as well as oversight of withdrawal management protocol for those in need of substance detox services will be ongoing functions within the role. As a key member of the crisis stabilization team, you will have the opportunity to assist individuals with the crisis care they need while remaining in their home community where they can be connected via streamlined access to follow up care and services.
Position Specifics
Location: Crisis Services Office – Abingdon, VA
Status: PRN
Compensation: $85.00 per hour – Commensurate with education/experience.
Education: Current/active license as a Nurse Practitioner with the privilege to practice in the State of Virginia. Specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health – Autonomous Practice Required.
Experience: Two years working with patients in a mental health or psychiatric setting required. In-patient facility experiences preferred.
